It can initialize an object that is mapped to a given database table turning table fields into variables of the object class. The class may optionally load object variable values from GET or POST values. The class also supports relationships in order to retrieve related objects into an array. When an object is changed, the class may also take care of of updating the respective database table record. The database access is implemented by a separate database abstraction layer (DAL) object.
